Hale surpasses 500-point mark, helps CMU clinch league title

NeNe Hale of Anchorage matched her season average with 19 points as Central Methodist beat William Penn 86-74 in NAIA action in Missouri.
The 5-foot-8 sophomore starter collected 13 points in the second half and assisted on the go-ahead basket at 52-50 in the third quarter that put CMU in front for good.
Hale, of Houston High fame, also grabbed seven rebounds and went 4-for-4 from the foul line in playing 39 minutes.
She now has scored a whopping 501 points in 26 games.
CMU is 25-2 on the season, including 20-1 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
The Eagles have clinched at least a tie for the league title, the program’s first since 1997, when Hale was 3 years old.
