Mattson is the top 3-point shooter in West Coast Conference

Hannah Mattson BasketballHannah Mattson of Fairbanks had a perfect night from 3-point range and lifted the University of Portland to its first win in the West Coast Conference this year.

The 5-foot-9 junior guard pumped in a career-high 16 points on the strength of 4-for-4 shooting from deep in an 81-79 win over Pepperdine in Oregon.

Mattson, of West Valley fame, increased her season 3-point shooting percentage to .456, which ranks No. 1 in the WCC.

She has made 26-of-57 attempts on the season.

Mattson is now back in the starting lineup for Portland and averaging 4.7 points in 24 games.
