An all-star baseball player in high school, Lauren Frost of Eagle River is making her transition to college softball look easy.

The freshman infielder at Stanford University is hitting .400 in her last four games and socked her first home run the last time she took the field for the NCAA D1 team in California.

She is hitting .286 overall this season, although four of her first eight games she was used only as a pinch hitter.

Since then she has been inserted into the starting lineup and her game has flourished.

Frost, of Eagle River High fame, has delivered a base hit in each of her four starts. She also has three RBIs.

She is playing second base, although she can play shortstop too.

She has converted 18-of-19 defensive chances and turned a double play.
