Hickel propels Boston Pride into inaugural Isobel Cup Finals

Zoe Hickel of Anchorage racked up a goal and two assists for the Boston Pride during their National Women’s Hockey League playoff series against the New York Riveters.
Boston swept the best-of-3 series to advance to the inaugural Isobel Cup Finals.
Hickel, of South High fame, assisted on goals in the first and second periods of a 7-4 win in Game 2. It was the seventh straight victory for Boston, which is riding a current 10-game unbeaten streak [9-0-1].
She scored a goal in a 6-0 Game 1 win.
Hickel is one of two Alaskans on the Boston team, along with Anchorage’s Jordan Smelker.
Smelker, of Service High fame, scored 19 points during the regular season to finish sixth in the NWHL in scoring. She did not register a point in the first-round playoff series.The forward was third on the team with 9 goals and 10 assists.
Hickel has picked up her game in the postseason. She collected 3-4–7 totals during the regular season, but already has three points in the playoffs.
Boston will face the Buffalo Beauts in the best-of-3 Isobel Cup Finals, starting Friday in Newark, New Jersey.
