Thompson blasts 12th career HR, most among active Alaskans
The senior slugger clubbed his fourth homer of the NCAA D3 season over the weekend.
He has averaged a home run every six games. Last year, when he went yard five times, he averaged a bomb every 8.6 games.
Thompson, of Dimond High fame, now has 12 career home runs, the most among active college baseball players from Alaska.
He is hitting .264 in 24 games this season – right at his career average.
Thompson’s on-base percentage has skyrocketed to .402 this season thanks to a keen eye in the box. He has earned 12 walks in 99 plate appearances compared to 11 walks to 181 last year.
