bradOne of the greatest basketball players from Alaska is now considered one of the best scorers in the famed Spanish ACB.

North Pole’s Brad Oleson pumped in 13 points – his second-highest point total of the season – in Barcelona’s 84-57 win over Manresa in La Liga action and reached a major milestone along the way.

Oleson needed just seven points to reach 2,500 for his sparking career dating back to 2008 in arguably the top league in Europe.

His point total does not include games from Euroleague or Copa del Rey action; just Spanish league games.

The 32-year-old former UAF All-American is averaging 5.1 points in 16.7 minutes in 24 games this season. He is a starting guard with his backcourt mate being a former NBA player, Carlos Arroyo.

Last year, he was named to the Euroleague All-Defensive First Team.

Oleson helped Barcelona reach the Spanish league finals last year, but was denied a shot at winning back-to-back championships by Real Madrid.

Overall in his career, he has won four titles since turning pro in 2005, including three in Spain.

He won his first La Liga title in 2010 with Caja Laboral. In 2007, he won a Spanish League second division title with Rosalia.
