Jordan Clarke of Anchorage is keeping an eye on the Olympic Trails later this summer.

In the meantime, he’s seeing his results in the shot put continue to progress with every week of training at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego.

The 25-year-old former four-time NCAA national champion finished his third competition there today and uncorked a victorious throw of 20.5 meters [67 feet, 3 inches] and another of 20.35. The winning mark was a season-best result for him.

“Consistent day,” he said on Instagram. “Training is going in the right direction but can’t wait to really line these throws up in the next month or so.”

Clarke, of Bartlett High fame, was third at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2015.

He will next compete May 14 at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix in China as part of the prestigious IAAF Diamond League.
