Sherman-Newsome commits to school in league with UAA, UAF

Iziah Sherman-Newsome of Anchorage has agreed to play college basketball next season for a school in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
The 6-foot-4 guard has committed to Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia in Canada for his final two seasons.
Simon Fraser plays in the same league as UAA and UAF. The team is scheduled to come through Alaska in early February.
Sherman-Newsome, of Bartlett High fame, averaged 11.1 points and 3.4 rebounds last season at Laramie County Community College in Wyoming.
