Anchorage’s Jordan Tufaga is racking up yards in a big way for the Central Washington University football team.

The freshman running back is averaging 6 yards per carry and 25 yards with each reception in his first seven games at the NCAA D2 level.

Although it’s a small sample size, the 5-foot-10, 195-pounder deserves a chance to get the ball more.

Tufaga, of Dimond High fame, carried the ball a team-high seven times for 31 yards in a 35-0 win over Western Oregon University.

He has racked up 32-193-1 totals on the ground and 4-76-1 totals in the passing game.
