Travon Brackett of Anchorage struggled to score in the first nine games with his new school at Holy Cross College in Notre Dame, Indiana.

Then he exploded for 22 points in one game.

The 6-foot-4 junior transfer collected his career high on 8-of-10 shooting in a 93-62 win over visiting Saint Xavier in NAIA action.

Brackett, of West Valley High fame, came into the night averaging 3.6 points per game.

He sank 4-of-6 threes, grabbed six rebounds, handed off three assists and made two steals.

Brackett transferred from Ancilla College, where he earned all-league honors last season in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and helped a 20-win Charger team advance to the national tournament.

At Ancilla, he averaged 7.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 56 career games.
