Her jumper misfired last game, but NeNe Hale of Anchorage responded like the NAIA All-American that she is.

The 5-foot-8 guard sank 4-of-5 3s en route to a season-high 26 points as the 15th-ranked Central Methodist University women’s basketball team beat Mount Mercy 93-76 in Fayette, Missouri.

Hale, of Houston High fame, hit 10-of-14 field goals after going 9-for-21 last game, including 1-of-6 from deep.

She leads her team in scoring at 17.6 points through the first six games.

Last year Hale averaged 19.7 points and 5.8 rebounds and was one of four players that received consideration for national player-of-the-year honors.

She was the only underclassmen among the NAIA All-America first or second teams.
