Zumbro named RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year for Mines

After leading the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in both goals against average and shutouts, Sam Zumbro of Anchorage was rewarded for her excellent effort.

The senior was named RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year and helped the Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer team win 16 of her 18 starts.

Zumbro, of Service High fame, registered a league-high seven shutouts and combined on six others. She allowed only 0.50 goals per game on the year.

The team captain was also named to the First Team All-RMAC team and CoSIDA Academic All-District.

At one point, she logged a career-best streak of 576 minutes without allowing a goal.
