When the Peninsula College men’s basketball team needs to dial up a shot from long distance, they call on Alex Braham of Wasilla.

The 6-foot-5 sophomore is having a career year shooting the ball from beyond the arc.

Baham ranks third in the Northwest Athletic Conference with a .506 3-point percentage on 40-of-79 3-point shooting.

Coming off the bench, he is averaging 10.1 points in 18.3 minutes and providing precise perimeter shooting.

Baham, of Wasilla High fame, has made at least four 3s in six of 16 games.

Two nights ago against Bellevue, he made 5-of-7 from downtown to score 15 points. It was the fourth time he has made five 3s.

It continued a stretch of strong play from Baham, who grabbed a career-high six rebounds last week against Olympic.

Last season, he averaged just 3.0 points in 26 games at Peninsula.

This season Baham has reached double figures in half of his 16 games, including six of his last seven, highlighted by his career-high 22 points against Chemeketa right before Christmas.
