Big second half by James helps Cameron win in Oklahoma

Savanna James of Wasilla made a big 3-pointer early in the second half and then converted a layup late to help Cameron University beat Tarleton State 81-72 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-4 junior finished with 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting in just 19 minutes of work.
James, of Houston High fame, drained a 3-pointer seven seconds into the second half to give the Aggies a 35-28 lead. Later, her layup gave Cameron a 67-63 with 5:39 left in the game.
She leads the NCAA D2 team in scoring at 16.5 points per game in 17 games. She also leads the team with a 7.9 rebounding average and 13 total blocked shots.
James has made a huge improvement from last season, when she averaged 4.6 points ad 2.9 rebounds in 19 games in her first year on campus.
