Tahna Lindquist of Kodiak is having a sensational sophomore season with the University of Hawaii swim team.

She has posted four personal-best times, most recently in the 200-yard freestyle against Simon Fraser in Kihei, Hawaii.

Lindquist, of Kodiak High fame, clocked a time of 1:54.45 to finish second in the finals and best her previous PR of 1:56.31 set exactly one year to the day.

She also led off Hawaii’s victorious 400-yard medley relay team and won the 200 backstroke in 2:02.26, which wasn’t a PR but it was more than two seconds faster than the field.

Lindquist is one of the most versatile swimmers on the team, specializing in freestyle and backstroke but was good enough in the breast stroke and butterfly to compete in the individual medley.

She’s also competitive in events ranging from 50 yards to 500 yards, setting PRs in the 100 back, 200 back and 500 free.

In the 500 free, her time of 4:54.06 was the ninth best in school history.
