As soon as Pauline Tufi of Anchorage got her swing right, the Louisiana Tech softball team got right.

With the senior slugger leading the way, the Lady Techsters extended their five-game winning streak with back-to-back victories at the Louisiana Tech Classic over Northern Iowa and Grambling State.

Tufi, of West High fame, has hit .400 [6-for-15] with two home runs and five RBIs during the win streak to pull out of an early season slump.

The 5-foot-10 first baseman now has 29 career home runs.

She inched closer to the Alaska home run record for NCAA D1 softball players held by Lillian Bullock of Anchorage. Bullock blasted 34 career home runs for North Carolina A&T from 2008 to 2011.

Tufi is also chasing Bullock’s RBI record of 138, trailing with 122.

LaTech [11-4] takes the field again Sunday against McNeese State for the final day of the Classic.
