Liberty University sophomore Michael Todd of Anchorage finished fourth in the 800 at the Gamecock Invitational at the brand new Sheila & Morris Cregger Track in Columbia, South Carolina.

His time of 1:50.48 was a career best and the fastest by a Flame since 2010.

Todd, of Anchorage Christian fame, now ranks No. 3 in program history and No. 8 in Big South Conference history books.

He is already within striking distance of the 800 school record of 1:49.60 set in 1997.

Todd has had a short but sensational career, winning the Big South indoor 800 title as a freshman and earning four career all-conference finishes.

Last outdoor season he was the Big South runner-up in the 800 and was part of Liberty’s second-place 4×400 relay team.

The 800 is his bread and butter.

Todd placed 10th in the 800 prelims at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships and won the Big South Triangular 800 in a then personal-best 1:51.11, moving into seventh place in program history.
