McGregor picked defensive player of the week by D3 conference
He made five tackles, recovered two fumbles, broke up two passes and grabbed an interception in what was his greatest performance for the NCAA D3 school.
Just all in the day’s work for senior defensive back.
McGregor, of Wasilla High fame, was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week for the first time in his career.
On the first play from scrimmage, the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder pounced on a fumble to give the Scots the ball inside the red zone. The turnover led to a Macalester field goal.
Later in the first quarter, he intercepted Hamline quarterback Justice Spriggs at the Scots’ 17-yard line and returned it 42 yards. It was his second career pick, the first since 2014.
In the third quarter, McGregor recovered his second fumble to stop the drive and give possession back to the Scots.
