Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin is playing some of the best basketball of her career, yet the Bendigo Spirit don’t have much to show for it.

The 30-year-old is averaging 19.5 points and 10 rebounds per game – one of just three players in Australia’s WNBL to average a double-double on the season.

The only problem is Bendigo has lost four of its first five games.

Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, had 17 points and a season-high 16 rebounds in last night’s 79-75 loss to the Adelaide Lightning.

The 6-foot-2 forward was coming off a 22-point, 10-rebound game during a 106-79 loss to the Perth Lynx.

In her team’s lone win, Griffin collected 17 points, 8 rebounds and a season-high 4 assists.

Overall, the former Nebraska All-American ranks fourth in the WNBL in scoring and fifth in rebounding.
