Warner Pacific College’s Sterling Magnuson of McGrath turned the page to the next chapter of her wrestling career.

Turns out it’s the same success story.

The freshman won five matches and advanced to the bronze-medal match at the annual Blue Chip Open in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Magnuson, of Mt. Edgecumbe High fame, finished fourth in the college open 191-pound class and scored 46.5 points for Warner Pacific.

The former Alaska state champion started her college career with a pin at the 3:42 mark. She followed that up with a 6-4 decision win.

She lost her third match but bounced back to pin her next two opponents, including McKayla Kerr in 2:15 in the quarterfinals.

In the third-place match, Magnuson lost to All-American Solove Naufahu by technical fall.
