Thompson becomes 3rd Alaskan to net 50 career NHL goals
November 2, 2017

Nate Thompson
He reached the milestone in style – with a shorthanded goal.
The 33-year-old center with the Ottawa Senators notched goal No. 50 last week in a 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
He added No. 51 tonight on an empty netter to top off a 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
Thompson, of Dimond High fame, has been especially efficient in the last six games, notching three goals and an assist as Ottawa racked up eight points to surge to second place in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division.
He has compiled 51-65—116 totals in 563 career games over 10 seasons.
Only Anchorage’s Scott Gomez [181] and Brandon Dubinsky [141] have scored more NHL goals than Thompson among the dozen skaters from Alaska to play in the league.
