VanOrd ends phenom freshman season for Lane CC in Oregon

Anchorage’s Danielle VanOrd saw her seven-game point streak come to an end for the Lane Community College women’s soccer team in Eugene, Oregon.

The freshman forward was held scoreless for first time in a month as Lane suffered a 3-0 season-ending loss to Peninsula in the quarterfinals of the NWAC Championships in Tukwila, Washington.

VanOrd, of Bartlett High fame, led the team and ranks ninth in the conference with 35 points.

She bagged 13 goals and nine assists in 13 games.

During her seven-game point streak, she collected seven goals and seven assists.

Lane finished 6-1 when VanOrd scored a goal.
