Freshman Peyton Young of Eagle River capped a strong freshman cross country season for Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was her team’s top runner at two races and never finished outside the top-3 in a half dozen races this year.

Young, of Eagle River High fame, also turned in her fastest 6-K time of 23:54 at the NCAA D2 Midwest Region Championships in Cedarville, Ohio.

She finished second on her team and 92nd out of 197 female finishers overall.

The week before she cracked the top-50 at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships.

One of her best highlights came in late September at the Stegemoller Classic in Evansville, Indiana, where she set a 5K personal record of 19:23 to pace all Trevecca Nazarene runners.
