Playing household names brings out the best in Juneau’s Jacob Calloway.

The Southern Utah hoops player scored a season-high 14 points against UNLV and pumped in a team-high 12 points against Michigan State.

The starting forward kept it going with a solid 18-minute performance against Iowa.

Calloway, of Thunder Mountain High fame, turns up the confidence when the bright lights come on.

The 6-foot-8 sophomore has been a bright spot for the Thunderbirds of the Big Sky Conference.

Calloway has started eight of 10 games and is averaging 8.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in 19.5 minutes.

His shooting numbers for 3-pointers [.405] and free throws [.765] are above the team average. His 17 offensive rebounds are the second most for the 6-5 T-birds.

He went 5-for-9 from the floor against UNLV and drained 4-of-7 triples against then-No.3 Michigan State.

Tonight against Iowa he scored eight points, matched his season high with two steals and went 2-for-4 from downtown – his sixth straight game with a 3.
