Mississippi State’s suffocating defense didn’t disrupt Ruthy Hebard.

The Fairbanks phenom with the Oregon Ducks dropped in 11-of-12 field goals and scored a season-high 25 points in a 90-79 loss between top 10 teams in Starkville, Mississippi.

Hail State features 6-foot-7 Teaira McCowan and had held opponents to just 36 percent shooting on the season.

The 6-foot-4 Alaskan didn’t match up McCowan that much because they play different positions, but she torched everyone else.

Hebard, of West Valley High fame, also grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots in 33 minutes.

This was the third time in 46 career games that the sophomore reached 90 percent shooting on at least 10 field-goal attempts. The other two were last season when she was 9-for-10 against Arizona and 12-of-13 against Portland State.

Hebard has made 59-of-89 field goals on the season and ranks No. 6 in the NCAA at .633 percent.

The All-Pac-12 forward leads Oregon with 8.6 rebounds per game and is second in scoring at 16.3 points.
