Kuiper hangs career-high 24 on No. 23 Arizona on 21st birthday
The 6-foot-7 junior drained 6-of-8 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 24 points in 24 minutes in New Mexico’s 89-73 loss to No. 23 Arizona at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
It was the swingman’s first double-digit performance since the season opener against Northern New Mexico when he scored 17 points to match his career high set the previous year against UNLV.
Kuiper, of Wasilla High fame, caught fire and torched the Pac-12 Wildcats for 7-of-10 field goals and 4-of-4 free throws.
He raised his season 3-point percentage 80 points to .386 after his big night. He was 11-for-36 through the first 10 games.
Kuiper is averaging 6.5 points in 19.5 minutes this year.
