When his minutes evaporated, New Mexico small forward guard Dane Kuiper of Wasilla didn’t disappear.

Lots of players lose their confidence when they lose their starting job, but Kuiper stayed strong and re-emerged a better player for the Lobos.

How else do you explain the 6-foot-7 junior scoring as many points in the last three games [48] as he did in the previous 10 games [48].

Kuiper, of Wasilla High fame, kept the good times going against Prairie View A&M when he pumped in 14 points in 19 minutes on 5-of-7 shooting.

He also dished off a career-high six assists and added 10 points and five rebounds against Rice.

The game before that he scored a career-high 24 points against Arizona when he knocked down 6-of-8 3-pointers.

He looks like a totally different player.
