Just days after joining the Aquinas College hockey team, Mike Curran of Anchorage scored the winning goal in his first game with the NAIA squad.

The freshman forward delivered the go-ahead score on a power-play goal in the third period to highlight a 3-1 victory over arch rival Calvin in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Curran, of West High fame, joined Aquinas for the second semester after recent stints with the Richmond Generals USPHL premier team and Dallas Stars U18 Tier 1 squad.

He wasted no time making a good impression with his new club.

With the game tied at 1-1, Curran netted the game winner for Aquinas in the team’s first game since the holiday break.
