She’s normally a starting pitcher for the Friends University softball team, but if needed Heather Breslin of Anchorage will finish a game.

In a doubleheader against Texas Wesleyan she did both.

The senior right-hander closed out Game 1 to earn the save and then started Game 2 and pocketed the win to highlight a sweep in Fort Worth, Texas.

Breslin, of Bartlett High fame, allowed two runs in 6.2 innings on the day.

She pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief in a 17-6 win in the first game in which Friends scored 13 runs over the final three innings.

It was her second save in 40 career appearances with the NAIA team.

Breslin pitched four innings of a 6-3 victory in the nightcap to pick up her 14th career win.
