Breslin pitches Friends University to win on Senior Day

Senior Day was already special for Friends University, but senior pitcher Heather Breslin of Anchorage made it extra special in the second game of a doubleheader.

She pitched six effective innings to pick up the win in a 10-3 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University during NAIA softball action in Wichita, Kansas.

With her team leading 4-3 after three innings, Breslin threw three consecutive shutout innings before being lifted for a reliever.

The right-hander allowed three runs on five hits while striking out six.

Breslin, of Bartlett High fame, has appeared in 21 games, the second-most on the team.

She improved her season record to 4-6 with three complete games and two saves.

In 49 career games, Breslin has posted a 16-12 record with 10 complete games.
