Baker racks up 20th scoreless outing for Double-A Tulsa Drillers
July 25, 2018

Dylan Baker
The 26-year-old right-hander cleaned up a 16-5 loss to the Springfield Cardinals in the Texas League with two scoreless innings of work.
The team’s saves leader probably didn’t think he’d pitch in such a lopsided game, but the Alaskan was summoned from the bullpen in the eighth inning after four teammates combined to give up 16 runs over seven innings.
Baker, of Juneau-Douglas High fame, entered with a runner on first base and no outs.
He stopped the bleeding with a double play and line out to end the eighth. Then he worked around a couple base hits to get out of the ninth inning.
It was Baker’s 20th scoreless outing in 33 appearances this season.
He leads the Tulsa Drillers with eight saves in 12 opportunities.
