It wasn’t just the first victory of the season for the Ghost Ballers, it was the first time BIG3 rookie Carlos Boozer of Juneau tasted victory in the second-year league.

The 36-year-old former NBA All-Star scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 50-41 victory over Trilogy in Toronto, Ontario.

Boozer, of Juneau-Douglas High fame, continues to play like a premier power forward.

The 6-foot-9 playmaker ranks second in the BIG3 in rebounds (55), third in field goals (36) and fourth in points (103).

Ghost Ballers (1-5) are tied for sixth in the eight-team league, a 3-on-3 pro basketball summer tour featuring former NBA players.

Boozer played 13 seasons in the NBA, his last year coming in the 2014-15 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He played in China last year.

With the BIG3, Boozer is being coached by George ‘The Iceman’ Gervin and his prominent teammates are Mike Bibby and Ricky Davis.
