His pocket precision still needs a little polish, but University of Dubuque quarterback Sean Duffy of Anchorage was on target when he needed to be.

The sophomore transfer completed 3-of-4 passes and threw a 10-yard touchdown strike to cap a 9-play scoring drive at end of the second quarter to put the Spartans ahead for good in a 21-10 victory over Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.

Duffy, of West High fame, completed just 13-of-26 of his passes for 103 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Seven of his completions went for first downs.

The signal caller was 16-of-32 for 100 yards and a TD in a 38-6 Week 1 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

In transferring to Dubuque, Duffy reunited with Anchorage’s Conor Feckley.

Both guys played quarterback for Tim Davis at West High. Feckley graduated in 2013, Duffy in 2016.

Feckley wrapped up his eligibility with the NCAA D3 Spartans last year and is now a graduate assistant coach as he finishes his master’s degree in Sports Management.

Duffy played last season at City College of San Francisco, where he started one of six games and passed for 459 yards and 5 TDs with zero interceptions.
