Anchorage’s Haleigh Van Allen helped the Northern Arizona University women’s soccer team erase another early mistake with some late-game magic.

The senior forward converted a crossing pass in the 83rd minute to provide a 3-2 victory over Idaho State in Big Sky Conference action in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The offense was a huge part of the win for NAU as they outshot the Bengals 27-18 on the afternoon, with Van Allen having seven of those shots.

It was the first goal of the season for the former Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year.

This was the second straight game Northern Arizona fell behind 1-0 in the opening five minutes. The first time resulted in a 1-0 loss to Arizona State University.

This time the team came back, capped by the Alaskan’s game winner.

Van Allen, of Service High fame, has scored three goals and two assists in 49 career games.
