Coming off a career day in the pocket, University of Dubuque quarterback Sean Duffy of Anchorage has been named American Rivers Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore transfer threw for a season-high 367 yards and six touchdowns in a 54-35 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University.

That’s more than the 459 yards and five TDs he accumulated his entire freshman season at City College of San Francisco, where he started one of six games.

Duffy, of West High fame, came to Dubuque and has settled in nicely.

After a slow start, he has doubled his efficiently rating (87.4 to 151.2) and had four games over 194 and two over 200.

Meanwhile, his completion percentage has gone from .500 to .590.

On the season, Duffy has thrown 22 TD passes compared to seven interceptions.
