CIC alum meet in college; Marqueda nets 41, Robinson 13 & 10

Anchorage’s Samuel Marqueda scored more points, but Anchorage’s Reece Robinson was on the winning side as the former Cook Inlet Conference players faced off on a college basketball court as starters in Eugene, Oregon.
Marqueda went off for a career-high 41 points for Northwest Indian College while Robinson collected 13 points and 10 rebounds for Northwest Christian in a 141-70 victory.
Marqueda, of Bartlett High fame, 11-of-25 field goals and 15-of-22 free throws in 39 minutes. He also had four rebounds, three assists and one steal.
The 5-foot-9 freshman guard made 4-of-13 3-pointers and sank more free throws than the entire Northwest Christian squad.
Northwest Indian College played only six players, allowing Marqueda to score early and often as the team’s leading scorer on the season.

Reece Robinson
Robinson, of Service High fame, collected his double-double in just 13 minutes.
A few weeks earlier he pumped in a career-high 27 points against William Jessup.
The 6-foot-4 former AABC Alaska 4A Player of the Year is averaging 17.7 points on .647 percent shooting to go with 6.7 rebounds as a senior.
