Anchorage’s Bentiu Panoam has gone from stranger to starter for the University of North Dakota men’s basketball team.

The first-year transfer has blended in beautifully with his new squad, working his way into the regular rotation and earning a starting role in the last four games.

The 6-foot-2 sophomore guard is averaging 16.1 minutes and shooting .464 percent from the floor. He’s also got a 2-to-1 assist to turnover ratio.

Panoam, of Bartlett High fame, is scoring 5.8 points per game and grabbing 1.6 rebounds in 11 games for the Fighting Hawks.
