DePriest reaches double digits for first time in NCAA D1 career
Eastern Washington University junior newcomer Leya DePriest of Palmer picked the perfect time to score double figures for the first time in her college career.
The 6-foot-3 center pumped in a career-high 12 points, including a go-ahead bucket in the final minute of overtime, to help the Eagles earn an 89-87 road win at Montana State University.
She reached double digits for the first time in 50 career NCAA D1 games, including 35 appearances during her freshman and sophomore seasons at University of Denver.
DePriest, of Wasilla High fame, sank 6-of-10 field goals and matched her career-high with seven rebounds. The last time she had seven boards was 2016 against Northern Arizona.
Her layup with 1:06 to go in overtime gave Eastern Washington an 84-82 lead.
DePriest has collected a total of 41 points in 16 games with the Eagles after producing just 31 points in 35 career games at Denver.
