Hebard passes Jacobson for No. 5 among AK women D1 scorers
Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks has moved into the top-5 among top NCAA D1 women’s basketball scorers from Alaska.
The University of Oregon junior forward racked up 27 points in a weekend Pac-12 series to give her 1,535 career points.
Hebard, of West Valley High fame, passed former Kansas State University and Chugiak High star Brit Jacobson at 1,519.
Hebard needs just 32 points to pass former Olympic gold medalist and University of Texas and Juneau-Douglas High star Andrea Lloyd for No. 4 at 1,596.
Hebard is on pace to join former University of Nebraska and Chugiak High star Kelsey Griffin as the only Alaskans to score 2,000 career points at the D1 level.
