Nidoy drafted by Trinity in first round of Philippine D-League
Anchorage’s Christian Nidoy was a top-10 pick in this week’s Philippine Basketball Association D-League draft.
The 5-foot-8 pure point guard was picked seventh overall by Trinity, a newcomer to the development league.
A total of 61 players were picked from the field of 151 candidates in a draft that last 20 rounds.
Nidoy, of West High fame, left Alaska after graduation in 2013 and attended prep school at Impact Academy in Las Vegas before signing with Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.
From there, he went to the Philippines and played for Arellano University. At one point he averaged 15.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. He scored a playoff high of 23 points.
