Stone advances to final round, earns top-10 spot at UCLA

Jami Stone of Chugiak ended the regular season for NCAA diving as the University of Hawaii junior advanced to the championship round of the of the women’s 1-meter springboard at the UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational in Los Angeles, California.
She finished the preliminary dives eighth out of 57 divers with a score of 267.5 points.
At the end of the day, she was 10th out of 18 finalists at 528.6.
Hawaii head coach Mike Brown said Stone’s performances at UCLA capped a strong finish to the season.
“Both the 1-meter and three-meter finishes were her best of the season against a strong and deep field,” Brown told the school’s website.
Stone, of Eagle River High fame, is the Alaska high school state record holder.
As a member of the Rainbow Wahine, she’s a two-time All-MPSF selection in 1-meter and one-time pick in 3-meter.
