Calloway reaches double digits for third straight game for SUU
Juneau’s Jacob Calloway has reached double figures in three straight games for Southern Utah University after he pumped in 14 points against Portland State.
He has scored double digits in three consecutive games five times in his career, including three times this season. But he’s never done it four times in a row.
Calloway, of Thunder Mountain High fame, is primed to do it Thursday against Eastern Washington in Cedar City, Utah.
The 6-foot-8 junior scored 10 points in the first meeting against the Big Sky opponent earlier this season and is averaging a career-high 9.4 points per game in 24 appearances on the year.
Calloway has doubled his scoring average from last season thanks to increased minutes per game (17.1 to 24.6) and increased field-goal percentage (.328 to .458).
He’s also shooting the 3-pointer better than ever. His .391 percentage is a career high and his 36 total 3s have matched his career high.
Calloway stands at 96 career 3s, needing just four more to reach the century mark.
