Griffin reaches fourth WNBL Finals since 2013 in Australia

Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin is going back to the WNBL Finals in Australia.
The seventh-year forward will make her fourth career appearance in the best-of-three series, but her first with the Canberra Capitals.
The Capitals clinched a finals trip with a 2-0 series win over No. 4 Perth in the league semifinals.
Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, delivered a double-double in each game.
In Game 1, she had 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a 95-76 win.
In Game 2, she had 12 points, 13 rebounds and two assists in a 91-75 win.
The former NCAA All-American out of the University of Nebraska leads the league with 11.7 rebounds per game, ranks second in scoring at 19 points per game and third in steals at 1.8 per game.
Griffin led the Bendigo Spirit to WNBL titles in 2014 and 2013, and reached the finals in 2015.
The 6-foot-2 forward is a two-time Finals MVP – one of only six players to win the award multiple times since 1985.
Griffin is averaging career highs in points and rebounds and has amassed 2,331 points in her seven seasons in Australia.
