Kodiak’s Talon Lindquist made quite the first impression at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swim & Diving Championships in La Mirada, California.

The University of Hawaii freshman won the men’s 400-yard individual medley in a conference record time of 3 minutes, 46.81 seconds, breaking the old mark that had stood since 2013 by .26 seconds.

He also broke the previous Hawaii school record of 3:47.12.

Lindquist, of Kodiak High fame, earned a total of four All-MPSF honors.

He earned first-team honors in the 400 IM, 200 backstroke and 800 freestyle relay. He was second team in the 500 free.

Hawaii swept both team championships.
