Willy Homza of Anchorage delivered three hits and three RBIs in two games, including his first home run of the season, for Brown University in a doubleheader loss to Fairfield in Providence, Rhode Island.
The senior third baseman crushed a two-run bomb in the first inning of a 13-8 loss in Game 2. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 7-6 loss in Game 1.
It was his first home run of the season and the third of his career with the NCAA D1 Bears.
Homza, of South High fame, raised his season batting average to .238 in 13 games
More impressive is his team-leading .418 on-base percentage, fueled by 13 walks in 13 games.
Homza has drawn more walks this season than he did last season (12) in 23 fewer games. His career on-base percentage was .325 entering his final year.
