Duffield continues crazy good Conference USA season for UTEP

Kacey Duffield of Fairbanks smacked two doubles, scored two runs and drove in another as UTEP defeated New Mexico 7-1 in NCAA D1 action in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The senior No. 3 hitter finished 2-for-3 at the plate to raise her team-leading batting average to .394 in 37 games.
Duffield, of Lathrop High fame, continues to have a MVP-type season in C-USA.
She ranks second in the league in slugging percentage (.677), third in batting average, fourth in on-base percentage (.500) and tied for fifth in home runs (8).
Duffield has reached base in 38 of her last 41 games dating to last season.
