White pitches back-to-back shutouts to highlight Senior Weekend

Rachel White of Anchorage enjoyed the ultimate Senior Weekend experience with the No. 17-ranked Corban University softball team.
The senior pitcher threw shutouts on back-to-back days as Corban University went 4-0 against Northwest Christian in the final home series of the season in Salem, Oregon.
White tossed a 3-hitter in Game 1 and then spun a 1-hit gem in Game 3 for the only two shutouts of the series.
The senior pitcher improved to 9-3 on the season, lowered her team-best 1.93 ERA and pushed her scoreless streak to 15.2 innings.
White, of South High fame, left quite the impression in her final start on Warrior field as the right-hander delivered the signature moment of her career by throwing a 1-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts in a 1-0 win.
“I’m proud of the team for the fight they showed today,” Corban head coach Abigail Farler said. “Rachel [White] threw an incredible game one and set the tone for the day.”
White retired the first 10 batters she faced before giving up a double in the fourth inning. She issued walks in each of the sixth and seventh innings.
She ended the game with back-to-back strikeouts to rack up her fifth complete game of the season.
Corban (30-11) will wrap up the regular season this weekend at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
