University of Texas El Paso softball’s Kacey Duffield of Fairbanks earned National Fast Pitch Association All-Region third team honors.

It was just another accolade for senior all-star, who is just the third Alaska woman to hit double-digit home runs in a single season at the NCAA D1 level.

The first baseman was named to the All-Conference USA First team and was the C-USA Player of the Week (3/11).

Duffield, of Lathrop High fame, led the team in batting average (.388), hits (53) and on-base percentage (.482). She was second with 10 home runs.

She reached base safely in 44 of the Miners’ 50 games this season and produced a program-record 20-fielded double plays.

Duffield is only the seventh player in UTEP history to earn All-Region honors, and is the first since Courtney Clayton did it last year.
