Steffensen extends hitting streak as Mesa advances at NJCAAs

Kenai’s Paul Steffensen and the No. 3 Mesa Community College T-birds beat No. 6 Lincoln Land 2-0 on the first day of the National Junior College Athletic Association D2 World Series in Enid, Oklahoma.
The sophomore center fielder started and batted No. 2 in the lineup, finishing 1-for-4 with a single.
He extended his hitting streak to five games, his fourth such streak of the season.
Steffensen is hitting .325 in 45 games with four home runs, 31 RBIs and 31 runs scored.
Mesa plays again on Tuesday.
