Steffensen helps Mesa continue march at NJCAA World Series

Kenai’s Paul Steffensen is playing a big role in helping Mesa Community College enjoy lots of success at the NJCAA World Series in Eid, Oklahoma.
The starting center fielder has batted 6-for-19 and has a base hit in each of the four tournament games as the T-birds from Arizona have posted a 3-1 record and remain alive in the double-elimination event.
Steffensen, of Kenai Central High fame, was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs in an 11-3 win over Madison College.
He singled in a run and scored a run as part of Mesa’s seven-run eighth inning breakout.
In the previous game, he drove in the tying run in the eighth inning as Mesa beat Northeast Community College 8-6.
Steffensen has three RBIs in four World Series games.
